Steve Milunovich Elevated to Unique Role of Tech Strategist for Wolfe Research
New York, NY – July 8, 2019 – Wolfe Research, LLC announced that its renowned IT Hardware & Networking analyst Steve Milunovich has today become Wolfe’s full-time Technology Strategist. Steve’s senior associate, Andrew Vadheim, has been promoted to senior analyst and under Steve’s tutelage will immediately take over coverage of the IT Hardware & Networking stocks.
Mr. Milunovich will be charged with drawing upon his more than 30 years of experience on the sell-side as a leading technology analyst to more broadly apply his vast knowledge, experience, and relationships across the tech sector generally. Steve intends to mine Wolfe’s unique blend of fundamental, technical, and quantitative analysis to explore tech themes, provide a view on sentiment and news flow, and highlight stock trends across the traditional hardware and software technology landscape, and also into other sectors like autos, transports, financials, and retail where technology is increasingly forcing important industry change.
Wolfe Research’s Managing Partner Ed Wolfe commented, “This is another step in our building out TMT coverage while also adding to Wolfe’s leading macro capabilities. With tech now disrupting practically every industry, the time is right for a tech strategist with a more holistic view, and I believe that Steve is uniquely positioned as the right person. He is an I.I. Hall of Famer covering tech through up and down cycles. He has seen it all and has unique big picture and micro insights that institutional investors gravitate towards.”
Mr. Milunovich added, “I’m excited to once again take on a technology generalist role as I had at Merrill Lynch from 2000-05 but that has been missing from the Street since. Furthermore, it’s a great pleasure to turn over hardware stocks to a smart and enthusiastic up-and-comer like Andrew Vadheim. ”
Steve Milunovich joined Wolfe a year ago. He is currently ranked #3 in Telecom & Networking Equipment and Runner-Up in IT Hardware in the 2018 Institutional Investor All-America Research Poll and has been named to the poll 24 times, including at one point 12 consecutive years as #1. Prior to Wolfe, Steve spent 6 years at UBS and 12 years at Merrill Lynch. He received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, where he graduated with a 4.0 GPA, and his BBA with Honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Andrew Vadheim joined Wolfe a year ago after working as an associate analyst in UBS equity research. He received a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School; a Master of Accountancy from Vanderbilt University; and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. He is a CFA charter holder.
