Noted Hardline Retail Analyst Joins Expanding Research Boutique
New York, NY — September 17, 2013 - Wolfe Research, LLC today announced that top Retail analyst Aram Rubinson, CFA has joined the firm as a Managing Director. His diverse and unique research coverage will focus on Hardline Retailing spanning e-commerce, home improvement, home furnishings, auto and auto parts retail and office supplies. He plans to launch coverage at Wolfe Research in the fourth quarter.
Mr. Rubinson joins Wolfe Research from Nomura Securities, where he covered Retail Hardlines and was one of their top ranked analysts for the past three years. Prior to Nomura, Mr. Rubinson was the Global Consumer Sector Head at Highside Capital Management where he oversaw a long/short portfolio from 2005 - 2010. Aram started his career on the sell-side in the Hardline Sector and from 1994-2005 worked at PaineWebber/UBS and then Bank of America Securities. Mr. Rubinson was highly ranked in Institutional Investor’s research survey for multiple years, including a #1 ranking in Retail Hardlines in 2004.
Mr. Rubinson joins fellow highly ranked retail analyst Scott Mushkin, who recently joined Wolfe Research and launched coverage of Broadlines, Food & Drug Chains and Healthy Lifestyle stores. Together they will comprise one of the most experienced Retail/Consumer teams on Wall Street.
Mr. Rubinson commented, “Wolfe Research's commitment to proprietary, fundamental research places it among the premier independent research firms on Wall Street. I look forward to joining forces with my long-time friend and colleague Scott Mushkin and to generating differentiated fundamental work for our institutional clients.”
Wolfe Research’s Managing Partner Ed Wolfe noted, “Aram’s unique coverage universe and cerebral approach to his companies and their industries differentiate him in the market place. It’s also not a coincidence that the last three highly regarded analyst teams Wolfe Research has hired have strong roots on the buy side as well as sell side—we believe this helps tailor their product and approach to our clients. In speaking with clients about Aram, they emphasize his deep thought process, desire to break-down his companies in non-Consensus ways and his ability to use accounting and channel expertise to accurately project profitability in his modeling work. On a personal basis we are thrilled to add him to our family —Aram combines thoughtfulness, intellect and a strong passion for fundamental research with integrity and humanity.”
