The AMR Bankruptcy Capacity Monitor
According to published schedule data from OAG filings, AMR’s system-wide capacity (measured by seats, not ASMs) over the next three months (July-September) is down 2.2% y/y, in line with the schedule data from last week. This week we did not find any changes to any routes. AMR’s domestic capacity is expected to decline 2.5% y/y, transatlantic capacity is expected to increase 0.4%, Latin capacity is expected to decline 0.5%, and transpacific capacity is expected to decline 15.5%, all in line with last week.
Ed Wolfe Audio Brief: FDX’s Stock Perched to Take Off
This week’s audio brief focuses on FDX and why we believe the stock is ready to take off. Along with UNP, FDX remains our favorite large cap stock currently. While at 12.5x forward P/E, FDX seems inexpensive, we have found that historically it can be a cheap stock for a long period of time, when it’s not beating earnings estimates. We believe Management’s recently provided F13 guidance which lowered expectations combined with continued strong ground and improving LTL operations should propel FDX to consistently beat estimates in F13….even before the emergence of three expected catalysts we discuss in detail below…
